Who Are You?

The name my folks gave me is Don O Cook. Hence the reason why I go by Doc in the title bar. I'm in my early 30s and have only recently taken up cartooning at the urging of a friend already in the web comic business. It's been quite fun so far and it's nice to see a hobby attract a cult following.

What is Deranged?

Deranged is the semi-autobiographical comic about my life and the weird people I'm surrounded by. Of course, I can't really throw stones in the weird category but I digress... It's semi-autobiographical because the names are changed and some characters are composites of multiple people. However, I can say that odds are if you've read it in comic-form, it's probably based on a real life event. Even the "No Way" shit.

What is Every Day Is Halloween?

EDiH is about a bunch of monsters, who normally only get let loose in the real world on Halloween; suddenly find themselves stranded. They don't know why. They don't know how to get back. And worst of all, they have to cope with the real world on terms that are no longer their own. Luckily, human disbelief in monsters has given them a shield, of sorts. Most humans see monsters as other humans. So, Johnny Pumpkinseed and the gang haven't been turned into pitchfork-cushions just yet.

What is Stellar Worlds?

Stellar Worlds is my playground for science, Astronomy and fake moon landings. It originally was supposed to run as a comic for Slacker Astronomy and due to technical problems ended up here. That and I pretty much strayed from astronomy right out of the gate. My bad.

What is Glitch?

Glitch is a comic from Halo of Pipoca Bizarre. She's a writer, cartoonist and arts & crafts ninja. So far, Glitch is about friends and their zombie. Glitch also revolves around video games. So if you like zombies, video games and kitties, you'll like Glitch.

What is the Deranged Comics update schedule?

That's a complicated question. The short answer is "whenever the hell I feel like it." I get enough grief over keeping a schedule at the day job. That said, I usually update a couple times week at least. Usually on a Monday. I do try and update more often but I work full time and there's only so much time in the day.

What is that weird symbol on Don's black hat in Deranged?

Don is a big fan of the industrial metal band Ministry. The "M"/anarchy symbol is their band logo. It's actually a hat Don bought at one of their concerts in 2006. You can actually find many veiled references to Ministry in the background of many strips. Especially Stellar Worlds and Deranged.
